Commie professor calls for mass slaughter of NRA members

It’s difficult to parse this level of pure stupidity, but apparently this is what passes for a “thought experiment” in the deranged recesses of the Swindell mind. You see, NRA types are given to accurately citing the Founders’ view of the Second Amendment as a check against tyranny. That means they’re all secretly dreaming of violently overthrowing the U.S. government, which these knuckle-draggers think is liable to degenerate into tyranny. Therefore, the government should… live down to the most hostile caricature of illegitimate, tyrannical government by sending the military out to murder them?

I doubt Swindell appreciates it, but he’s actually making a powerful case against gun-control lunacy. The only argument he can advance in favor of gun control is a false choice between his preferred agenda, and a new Civil War. His ideas are so weak that he can only advance them by slandering his opponents with bloody lies. He’s written the kind of screed gun-rights advocates can hold up as a sign of their opponents’ intellectual bankruptcy. Somebody’s having violent fantasies about murdering his political opponents here, and it’s not the guys who insist the Second Amendment means what it says.

Bitcoin eyed as feds crack down on online money laundering

The takedown of Liberty Reserve, which authorities described as a multibillion-dollar online money-laundering operation, raises the question whether Bitcoin could evolve into an alternative for cybercriminals.

The U.S. attorney's office in New York last week unsealed an indictment against the operators of Liberty Reserve, which provided the financial infrastructure for criminal activity ranging from credit-card fraud and identity theft to child pornography and narcotics trafficking. Five of the seven defendants, including founder Arthur Budovsky, were in custody in Spain, Costa Rica, and New York.

New NRA videos emphasize importance of expanding support now and for the future

That interest in gun rights should be fostered and supported among women and the next generation is self-evident, particularly considering the voting power women hold and a significant predisposition, at present, to favor “gun control” more than men do. Add to that the fact that today’s young people will be tomorrow’s voters, if a passion for Liberty is not instilled by we who are responsible to teach them, the education establishment will be happy to provide years of anti-gun intimidation and indoctrination to make up for our silence and inaction.

There are plenty of ways to encourage individuals in both groups, and plenty of resources to explore, but for now, as a good first step, why not take a few moments to watch and then share the NRA video links via email and social media?

Final Illinois concealed carry agreement

First things first – the law will be SHALL ISSUE.

Statewide pre-emption for all handguns is part of the bill. It had been hoped that the bill would include full pre-emption for all firearms, but the final bill was only able to keep handguns free from Chicago’s ridiculous laws. This means that local permits will no longer be required for handguns, cities cannot regulate magazine size or the kind of handgun you can buy and there will be no local restrictions on concealed carry. Concealed carry permits issued or recognized by the state will be valid in Rahm Emanuel’s disarmed utopia.

This state-appointed overseer will be a specific, named individual, and every child will have one, from birth. The responsibility for creating this named guardian will fall on the heads of the health boards for the first five years of a child’s life, before being transferred to councils. Perhaps the most worrying aspect of this development is that it clearly comes in large part as a mechanism to target and prevent child abuse.

U.S. Fails to Join Allies in Signing UN Weapons Treaty

After years of stalled discussions about a multilateral arms sales agreement, it wasn’t until Obama took office in 2009 that the U.S. reversed long-standing opposition to a treaty.

Even as he broke with tradition, Obama is in no rush to sign it.

“We are conducting a thorough review of the treaty text to determine whether to sign the treaty,” said Laura Lucas, spokeswoman for the White House National Security Council.

Advocates of the treaty, which requires ratification by at least 50 nations to go into effect, are under no illusion about an early Senate ratification even when the current administration gets around to signing it later this year, as predicted by non-governmental bodies such as Amnesty International and Oxfam.

The atmosphere on Capitol Hill toward treaty ratifications is “absolutely toxic,” Akwei said. The U.S. is also not a party to the International Criminal Court in The Hague that seeks to bring war criminals to trial.

The screen shot at the header of the article says it all. We've got the ubiquitous "Linksys" that tripped up Sandy, a Time Warner Cable public access Wi-Fi gateway, an Optimum Online public access Wi-Fi gateway, and a few others that didn't show up in the screen shot, such as a Comcast XFINITY W-Fi gateway, and a large number of unsecured privately-owned routers built by Netgear, D-Link, Apple and other usual suspects.

In the case of the cable companies providing public Wi-Fi access points for their subscribers, I have to say I am a bit annoyed that they tend to use unsecured, SSID broadcast Wi-Fi networks as entry points.

This applied to police officers as well as private citizens. According to the 2008 Senate Campaign website, this federal provision has blocked more than “150,000 attempted gun purchases by people with domestic abuse convictions.”

The Second Amendment is not just about guns any more than it is about duck or deer hunting. The folks at Knife Rights could explain that in detail. The Second Amendment protects the individual right to keep and bear arms, not just firearms. Wells apparently understands this as much as he realizes that the gun prohibition and anti-hunting lobbies have the same or similar interests: banning guns would prevent the overwhelming majority of hunters from pursuing game. That would make it easier for anti-hunters to go after bowhunters.

Sheriffs plan to put Feds back in their place

Larry Pratt, president of Gun Owners of America, told WND he supports sheriffs taking a tough stand.

I told some activists at a meeting the other day that Kokesh's event could, or likely would, end up being a major propaganda coup. Talk Show Host Adam Kokesh Detained by Feds, Video Evidence and Defense Funds to Back Him

Overall, it appears the main charge on Kokesh will be a felony assault.

In the official criminal complaint, it explains that Kokesh was next to an individual with a “marijuana cigarette” and eventually locked arms. When police make their way over to Kokesh and the individual who was consuming marijuana, Kokesh reportedly blocked and obstructed the ranger. What becomes eerier is when the report notes that Kokesh “grabbed the ranger by the arm to hold him back,” which led to the talk show host being detained.

A video posted to YouTube by ActontheActor displays Kokesh stumbling backward as police haul him away from the crowd and it appears the libertarian activist had not used any force against the rangers. In addition, another video uploaded by OfficialPayDroV illustrates Kokesh’s arrest completely, from the start of detainment up to being taken from the crowd, which could prove to be key in the investigation. Kokesh uses his center of gravity as federal police pull him from the crowd, carrying a microphone, appearing to be calm and content.

Adam Kokesh Accused of Felony Assault on Federal Officer – No Bail Yet

Thanks to the below video report from Josie Harris and Christopher Cantwell, direct from the federal courthouse in Philadelphia, we know that Adam is being held under 18 USC 11, felony assault on a federal officer. He was not released today but he has a detention hearing Thursday and might be released then. Thanks to Scott MacMillan we have a copy of the complaint against Adam. See it below the video.

The Free Adam Kokesh campaign will share more information as it becomes available. We all need to step up our activities in support of Adam in order to help Adam. He is in a very serious situation. The 'smart gun' that terrifies the gun-grabbers

As blogger Thirdpower points out, these rifles cost over $23,000 (which includes 200 rounds of highly specialized ammunition--more rounds beyond that would undoubtedly add a great deal more to the total cost). Chipman's "two bit criminal" has certainly moved up in the world.

Keep in mind that all this enormously expensive technology (of as yet unknown physical robustness) promises to provide is better accuracy. An increased ability, in other words, to hit the target, rather than something else--an innocent bystander, perhaps. They are arguing, essentially, that "public safety" requires that "civilians'" rifles miss a lot (at least 70% of the time, apparently, according to Fineman's rules--then again, Fineman is apparently out of his bloody mind).
